ACSA Provides Update On Jet A-1 Fuel Supply At Cape Town International Airport
Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) acknowledges recent reports from the fuel industry body FIASA regarding the distribution of Jet A-1 fuel at Cape Town International Airport (CTIA). We wish to reassure stakeholders and the public that fuel supply at CTIA remains largely stable, is not part of the G20 operational planning area, and poses no risk to our G20 aviation plans.
One fuel supplier at CTIA is currently experiencing temporary supply constraints due to outstanding matters with SARS, resulting in four airlines being affected. To ensure uninterrupted operations, the fuel industry has implemented a solution: the impacted airlines may uplift fuel from OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA), subject to prior arrangements. This solution will secure additional fuel supply from Wednesday, 19 November 2025, onwards for the four airlines.
ACSA continues to work closely with all relevant stakeholders to manage the situation proactively and to ensure minimal impact on airport operations. The ACSA airports remain ready to host the G20 Leaders Summit with Jet Fuel and all other requirement met and will be communicating the state of readiness with the media later in the week.
