Airports Company South Africa, Cape Town International Airport (ACSA CTIA) is
one of five airports for 2012 in the world nominated by the Airports Council
International (ACI) to be inducted onto the Director General’s Roll of
Excellence. This is for its exceptional achievements in the Airport Service
Quality (ASQ) surveys conducted over the past five years. The induction
ceremony took place on Wednesday, 12 September 2012, at the ACI-NA Chairman’s
Honours Luncheon of the ACI World/North America Annual General Assembly,
Conference & Exhibition in Calgary, Canada. Cape Town International Airport has been ranked in the top five airports (by
airport category, size or region) in each of the past five years (2007 - 2011)
and is one of only five airports worldwide that will receive this recognition in
2012. “In 2011, 14 airports were inducted onto the Roll of Excellence including
our sister airports, O.R. Tambo and King Shaka International Airports,” said
Deborah Francis, Acting Communications Manager for Cape Town International
Airport. “We are extremely proud of this accolade, which comes closely after the
airport won the Airport Council International Global Awards in February, where
the airport won Best Airport in Africa as well the SKYTRAX World Airport Awards
in April for Best Airport in Africa and the Best Airport in Africa for Staff
Service Excellence,” added Francis. The Director General Roll of
Excellence was established in 2011 and it provides recognition to airports that
consistently deliver excellent customer service. This award is based on the
opinion of passengers, received through the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey
conducted. “This is an outstanding achievement for an airport that has also been
transforming during this period of assessment. We recognise and appreciate that
this could not have been possible without the excellent work done by all airport
staff working at this airport. A heartfelt thank you goes out to each and every
one of the hard working men and women for their dedication over the years to
ensure that Cape Town International Airport consistently performs at world class
levels, “added Francis. This induction is a remarkable achievement and one that must be emphasised as
an opportunity to build upon to ensure that airports within the Airports Company
South Africa’s stable continue to move forward in becoming the best in the
world. A proud moment indeed for all at Cape Town International Airport and
together with all our partners and stakeholders, we look forward to being
awarded many more awards,” concluded Francis. |
