Mthokozisi Mncwabe joins Airports Company South Africa after serving as group CIO at the South African Post Office (SAPO) and Postbank for four years. In his role at the Post Office, his responsibility was to drive the national postal service's strategic technology vision, business revenue development, as well as management of business operations.
Mthokozisi also headed up a broad cross-section of the Post Office's cybersecurity efforts, including public-private partnerships to secure critical infrastructure, cyber risk management, and a system to alert government and industry of threats and response strategy.
Prior to the Post Office position, Mthokozisi worked for eight years at ABSA/Barclays Africa. He focused on delivering and supporting numerous business and IT solutions across a diverse client portfolio, which includes strategy, service delivery, service management, banking application replat forming and infrastructure delivery.
His role at Airports Company South Africa entails adding value and driving efficiency in the business through direct management of application performance and ensuring the performance of business-critical applications.
Mthokozisi will continue to grow Airports Company South Africa's core digital platforms and related support and reporting systems and strive for a cost-effective platform strategy in becoming the world's best airports company. Security challenges at Airports Company South Africa will be adequately addressed to secure and mitigate potential data losses and reputational risks.
Mthokozisi holds a Bsc (Mathematics) and Bsc (Computer Science Honours) from the University of Kwazulu-Natal. He has completed an MBA at Milpark Business School and an executive development programme through ABSA and GIBS.
