Chief Procurement Officer
 
 

Mr Macdonald Maluleke was appointed as a Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) at Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) effective 01 December 2024. Prior to joining ACSA, Mr Maluleke was at Transnet SOC Limited where he held a position of a General Manager, Capital Projects in the office of the Group Chief Procurement Officer (GCPO). Prior to that Mr Maluleke spent four (4) years at Transnet Freight Rail which is the biggest operating division of Transnet where he was the Chief Procurement Officer and is credited with successfully improving procurement governance, procurement efficiency, achieving significant procurement cost savings and contributing positively to the Transnet Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) programme. Mr Maluleke also previously occupied various procurement leadership roles in major corporations such as Telkom, Eskom and Liquid Telecoms.

Mr Maluleke is an experienced and driven Chief Procurement Officer with solid experience in business strategy, SCM turnaround, advanced negotiations, procurement transformation, digitisation, procurement cost reduction and stakeholder management. He has over 28 years' experience in various aspects of SCM including, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Procure2Pay, and Logistics Management attained from both the public and private sector. 

Mr Maluleke holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in Supply Chain Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree both attained from MANCOSA, a Professional Diploma in Procurement from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), Advanced Programme in Sourcing and Supply Chain Management, Programme in Purchasing and Supply Management and a Course in Strategic Management attained from 

UNISA.

Mr Maluleke further completed a Senior Leaders Development Programme (SLDP) at University of Witwatersrand (WITS) in 2020 as part of the Transnet Group Chief Executive Talent Nurturing Programme. Mr Maluleke is also a full member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) since 2016 and attained the coveted CIPS Chartered Status in 2019 as confirmation of his commitment to professional development and ethical procurement.
