Jabu possesses a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and an Executive Development Programme Certificate from Henley Business School. He also holds a National Diploma in Retail Management from Tshwane University of Technology, as well as an Advanced Certificate in Shopping Centre Leadership from the University of Pretoria. Furthermore, he has obtained a Certificate in Maximising Non-Aeronautical Revenues from the University of Cranfield in the United Kingdom as well as the Airport Executive Leadership programme from the John Molson Executive Centre at Concordia University, thereby enhancing his expertise in the aviation sector. Jabu is recognised as a Certified International Airport Professional (IAP) (AMPAP), illustrating his commitment to excellence and professionalism within the industry.
Jabu brings a substantial amount of experience in the aviation commercial sector, having commenced his career as a Retail Manager in 1996. He ascended through increasingly senior roles, ultimately achieving the position of Area Manager, where he concentrated on regional strategy and store operations. In 2002, he joined Airports Company South Africa (ACSA), where he made significant contributions to the expansion projects of O.R. Tambo International Airport (ORTIA), Central Terminal Building and the Duty-Free Mall. His proficiency in tenant planning and optimal mall layout was instrumental in these developments. Additionally, his strong commercial acumen was evidenced by his key contributions to ACSA's successful bids for concessions in Mumbai and Brazil.
Due to his exceptional management capabilities, Jabu was appointed as Group Executive of the Commercial Division, responsible for non-aeronautical revenue. In this capacity, he was tasked with the development and execution of the commercial strategy (Commercial 2025 Strategy), ensuring smooth operations across a network of nine airports.
Currently, Jabu serves as the Regional General Manager for Cluster 1, which includes both O.R. Tambo International Airport and Bram Fischer International Airport within ACSA. Cluster 1 is the biggest cluster in ACSA. He has held this position since May 2021.
