Mr Vishalan Govender Vishalan Govender, joined ACSA in 2001, is a seasoned Information Technology executive with more than two decades of senior leadership experience driving enterprise transformation, governance excellence, and strategic execution within complex, highly regulated environments. Currently serving as an Interim Chief Technology Officer at Airports Company South Africa (ACSA), he provides executive leadership for technology strategy, enterprise systems, operational technology, cybersecurity, digital innovation, and digital infrastructure across ACSA's national airport network.

Recognised for translating business strategy into measurable outcomes, Vishalan has built a distinguished career leading large-scale transformation initiatives, modernising operating models, strengthening governance frameworks, and enabling sustainable business growth through technology. His experience spans enterprise architecture, digital transformation, cybersecurity, IT governance, service management, operational resilience, and complex programme delivery, supported by extensive experience engaging executive committees, and governance structures.

At ACSA, he has held progressively senior leadership positions across technology operations, service management, enterprise transformation, and executive technology leadership. As CTO, he is responsible for developing and executing enterprise-wide technology and digital transformation strategies, technology architecture, service continuity, cybersecurity, infrastructure management, enterprise applications, operational technology, innovation, and strategic technology partnerships. He is also accountable for significant capital and operating technology budgets while ensuring alignment between technology investments and organisational objectives.

His leadership track record includes the successful delivery of major airport infrastructure and technology programmes across South Africa and the African continent. He has played a key role in the design, implementation, commissioning, and operational readiness of major airport developments, including O.R. Tambo International Airport, Cape Town International Airport, King Shaka International Airport, Kotoka International Airport (Ghana), Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (Zambia), Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport (Zambia), and Liberia International Airport. He also contributed to the successful technology delivery programme supporting the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Vishalan combines strong commercial acumen with deep technical expertise. His qualifications include a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management, and Bachelor of Commerce in Information Technology, Executive Development Program, Manager Development Program, Diploma in Advanced Project Management and an ITIL Expert complemented by advanced certifications in IT Service Management, Governance, Project Management, Information Security, and Operational Excellence.

He is respected for building high-performing teams, fostering innovation, strengthening stakeholder partnerships, and creating technology-led business value. His leadership philosophy centres on governance, operational excellence, customer-centric digital transformation, and the strategic application of technology to enhance organisational performance, resilience, and long-term competitiveness.
