Response to Skywise appeal for further relaxation of payment terms

 8 December 2015. Johannesburg. Airports Company South Africa notes the media reports stemming from the contents of a private business correspondence addressed to Skywise being publicised. Airports Company South Africa maintains its stance on the matter as per the reasons stated in the correspondence with its client. Airports Company South Africa maintains that its decision is informed by what is in the best interests and sustainability of its business. We therefore, do not believe that further commentary on the matter is necessary.

Furthermore Airports Company South Africa wishes to state that it is not the only supplier that is owed money by Skywise amongst multiple stakeholders in the airline’s operational value chain. It is regrettable that Airports Company South Africa’s position on unpaid service fees is being viewed in isolation, despite many stakeholders being instrumental in ensuring an airline’s continued operation.
