O.R. TAMBO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO LEAD FROM THE FRONT AT AIR CARGO AFRICA 2015

Johannesburg, 25 August, 2014 - O.R. Tambo International Airport, a vital gateway for regional and international air cargo and trade links will be the Gold Sponsor of the internationally acclaimed “Air Cargo Africa” in 2015.

Held biennially by STAT Trade Times, this third edition of the “Air Cargo Africa” will take place in Johannesburg from 25-27 February 2015. The conference has paved the way for the coordination of activities of indigenous and foreign players to help the industry acquire much needed international standards.

“O.R. Tambo International’s participation certainly gives weight to the event. The airport was named the ‘Best Airport in Africa’ at the 2014 Skytrax World Airport Awards. We are making strides in creating air cargo opportunities in South Africa and facilitating links with Africa and many other parts of the world to grow economies from strength to strength,” said Unathi Batyashe-Fillis, Manager: Communications and Brand Management for O.R. Tambo International Airport.

The African Air Cargo industry has identified its limitless potential for growth through the relentless application of expertise of qualified players, in collaboration with that of their counterparts across the world. The industry has come a long way to achieve a distinguished and enviable place as the new frontier, urging prospective entrepreneurs to look to it as a major hub for furthering mutually beneficial business ventures.

“Ever since its inception in 2011, “Air Cargo Africa ” has remained in the forefront to help the African air cargo industry to achieve significant growth. The event’s innovative and novel concepts are presented to the industry through two of its highly successful editions, the positive outcome of which has gradually started bearing fruits. O.R. Tambo International Airport is an invaluable partner that has made it possible for us to overcome the odds and organize the event for the third time for the all- around development of the industry. We take this opportunity to thank the airport authorities for endorsing our event through this majestic gesture,” said Mr. R.K. Partra, Editor-in-Chief, STAT Times.
